In Mourcourt, Belgium, Steel and Style created a stainless steel infinity indoor pool. The 316L stainless steel pool occupies the full length of a raw concrete hall, opening onto the countryside through large glass doors. The water is flush with the floor and flows into stainless steel grating channels.
A pool in a concrete and wood hall
The pool runs along an entirely glazed facade. Opposite, a raw concrete wall; above, a concrete ceiling and a wooden soffit. The architecture is understated, and the pool follows its lines: a long rectangle of water, with nothing protruding.
This project illustrates Steel and Style's presence outside France: our teams design in the workshop and install on site, in Belgium as elsewhere in Europe.
An infinity edge flush with the floor
The water level is flush with the stone floor. The water overflows into channels closed by stainless steel gratings, which follow the contour of the pool and turn in the corners. The water surface becomes a mirror: it reflects the glass doors, the ceiling and the garden.

To understand this principle, see our stainless steel mirror pool guide.
Stainless steel steps and bottom
Access to the pool is via stainless steel steps integrated into the shell. The bottom is made of textured stainless steel sheet, which catches the light and gives the water a hue that changes with the day.

An indoor pool to enjoy all year round
Indoors, a stainless steel shell is delivered finished: no lining to install on site, and a welded seal. For the comfort of the room, air management is essential; our indoor pool, dehumidification and air treatment guide details the solutions.

The result
A pool that reads like a body of water placed within the architecture. For another indoor pool, see the Hotel & Spa Ribeauvillé and the pool at the Hotel Oceania in Lille.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions about the infinity indoor pool
How does a channel infinity edge work?
The water flows over the edge of the pool and falls into a channel closed by a grating. It enters a buffer tank, is filtered, then returned to the pool.
Why stainless steel gratings?
Stainless steel resists treated water and matches the shell. The gratings are installed flush with the floor and are easy to clean.
Is an infinity pool suitable indoors?
Yes. It creates the desired mirror effect. A buffer tank and dehumidification system sized for the room must be provided.
Does Steel and Style operate in Belgium?
Yes. Our teams install in France and Europe, notably in Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Can steps be integrated into a stainless steel pool?
Yes. The steps are made of stainless steel with the shell, at the chosen location and dimensions.
